The bus driver

As the sun rises over the eastern horizon,
He wakes to go from zone to zone,
Fetching students from house to house,
Working steadfastly like a mouse.

Everyday, at the same time,
in the same way, Be it a sunny or rainy day,
Everyday he works, except for Sundays,
School vacations and public holidays.

Nothing else to do but drive,
"Tis he who takes sole responsibility for the children's lives,
True, his job is boring,
But you never hear him complaining!

The bus gets dusty,
The driver then gets busy,
Doing the cleaning,
While his passengers are studying.

Sometimes he, too, will be yawning,
When he hears the children snoring.
occasionally, he indulges in smoking and singing,
To prevent himself from dozing.

As he drops the children home after school,
They laugh, joke and play the fool,
All care is put aside,
Freedom and joy preside.

Finally he goes home after work,
To help his family with the housework.
You may think his services do not count for much,
Still, he has a vital role to play as such.
